The final heat saw players just trying to outlast there closest rivals. With some very tight play suiting John Gower's style he picked up his 3rd Victory in 5 heats and will obviously take some beating on the final table.

You can see from the table below who has qualified for the final table, those who have to sweat it out on the play-off table and those of you who can dream of what might of been (that means you Harrod!)

Due to England finishing 2nd in their 'GROUP OF DEATH' behind that established football nation 'THE U.S OF A' our Series of Poker will not be interrupted.

So the Final Heat will be

remember that only 4 results maximum count and you will dropped your 2 worst results. This can make a difference, so if you think you have no chance of qualifying, don't be too sure....!!!

Heat 5 saw a new player hit the top-spot. Danny 'never lose a race' Sharman come through the field to take the crucial 10pts although it does help when if your behind you hit and if your infront you hold up.... ALL THE TIME!!!!!

Two in Two for Gower! Hitting a rich vein of form (or more likely, alot of cards) at the right time is our John. Winning his second consecutive heat has put John firmly at the top of the leaderboard. More strong showings from Max and Sharmo have them riding high also.

This weeks heat saw the field all bunch up with our previous leaders being knocked out early and some of the players who needed good results, getting them!

After an extremely competitive final table John Gower was victorious over Flatty heads up.

Another strong field turned up for the second of six heats of this seasons Series of Poker. After Aaron's win and 10 point haul from the first heat, the rest of the tables were eager for blood and they duly received it, Aaron being one of the early 2pt casualties along with last years winner Mick 'I never hit a flop' Wall, who is floundering with only 4pts after 2 heats.

This week it was the turn of another Wall to step up to the plate. Max played some excellent poker at times (Dad must of taught him everything he knows) and also got the little bits of luck you need at the right times to win a Pot Black tourno with the standard improving all the time.

So the first Heat of the Season is complete and what a popular start it was!! Record attendance with plenty of old faces but several new ones as well. If this keeps up expect a bumper end of season kitty!



Current Pot Black World Champion Wally got off to a cracking start... 2nd out and Aaron 'The River' Cooper still hits rivers! as well as flops and turns! not that we think your lucky Aaron....



Aaron after busting Bakers Aces went on to scoop top spot on the leaderboard with victory in the opening heat.

HERE IT IS THE NEW AND IMPROVED,

POT BLACK POKER SERIES

THIS TIME THEIR WILL BE 6 QUALIFYING NIGHTS ALL LEADING TO A GRAND FINAL TABLE IN THE SUMMER WITH AN ESTIMATED TOTAL PRIZE FUND OF OVER £500!!!!!

EACH INDIVIDUAL POKER NIGHT WILL HAVE A CASH PAYOUT FOR THE WINNER AND RUNNER-UP. THE WINNER IS NOT GUARANTEED A SEAT AT THE FINAL TABLE. INSTEAD TO BENEFIT OUR REGULAR PLAYERS ONLY POINTS ACCUMULATED THROUGH THE YEAR WILL COUNT TOWARDS QUALIFYING FOR THE GRAND FINAL.

EACH NIGHT WILL BE LIMITED TO 16 PLAYERS EACH PAYING A
£15 ENTRY FEE.

THE ENTRY £15 WILL BE BROKEN DOWN SO THAT £10 WILL GO INTO THE POT FOR THAT NIGHT TO BE WON BY THE WINNER AND R/UP AND THE OTHER £5 WILL GO INTO THE GRAND FINAL POT. ALSO FOR YOUR £15 YOU WILL BE GUARANTEED ONE BUY-IN (IF INDEED YOU NEED ONE!) FOR ALL YOU FISH OUT THERE, ONE MORE BUY-IN CAN BE BOUGHT FOR AN ADDITIONAL £5, AGAIN CONTRIBUTING TO THE OVERALL PRIZE FUND.

A POINTS SYSTEM WILL BE IN PLACE SO THAT 6-HIGHEST POINTS SCORERS WILL QUALIFY FOR THE GRAND FINAL TABLE. THE NEXT 6-HIGHEST POINTS SCORERS WILL HAVE THEIR OWN ‘WILD CARD TABLE’ WHEREBY EACH PLAYER WILL START WITH 500CHIPS PLUS 100 CHIPS FOR EACH POINT ACCUMULATED DURING THE MAIN SEASON. THESE SIX PLAYERS WILL PLAY DOWN TO 2 WILD CARD ENTRIES FOR THE GRAND FINAL ON THAT NIGHT!

THIS YEAR TO MIX THINGS UP A BIT AND TO HELP PLAYERS THAT MAY HAVE TO MISS SOME NIGHTS DUE TO WORK COMMITMENTS, PARTIES ETC, THERE WILL BE A FEW ADJUSTMENTS TO LAST YEARS RULES.

ONLY YOUR TOP FOUR RESULTS WILL COUNT TOWARDS YOUR FINAL POINTS SCORE, THIS WILL MAKE THE LEADERBOARD AWFULLY CLOSE ENCOURAGING PLAYERS TO MAKE MORE APPEARANCES BUMPING UP THE OVERALL PRIZE FUND!

EXTRA POINTS CAN BE GAINED BY KNOCKING PLAYERS OUT EN-ROUTE TO THE FINAL 3 PLAYERS ON ANY NIGHT. EVERYTIME YOU KNOCK A PLAYER OUT YOU WILL RECEIVE ½PT WHICH WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR OVERALL SCORE.

SO IT’S WORTH PLAYING AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN TO GIVE YOURSELF THE BEST CHANCE OF QUALIFYING!!!

NOTE :- WE ALL NEED TO TRY HARDER IF SOMEONE WHO NEVER GETS A HAND OR HITS A FLOP CAN WIN LAST YEARS POKER SERIES!!!!!
