POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER - HEAT 11

Heat 11 saw the ever popular Paul Harrod take the glory... how this happened nobody knows! Normally he's to busy cracking jokes or at the bar or in the toilet or on the phone... the list could go on... to even look at his cards let alone play them! My guess is that everyone else knocked themselves out whilst Harrod sat at the bar just losing chips in the blinds and ended up winning!

Please note the above Post, Important Date Changes!!!!

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER - HEAT 10

Heat 10 was won by Mr 'Royal Flush' himself, Wally. Fighting off strong competition from John 'when the blinds up?' Gower and another good showing from Nigel 'I never lie over a poker table' Blowers. With two Heats to go the rate Skipper is notching up the points he could overturn Ricky 'Goldenballs' Long to be Chip Leader on the Xmas Grand Final Table.

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER

HEAT 10 - SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER - HEAT 9

Heat 9 saw a good crowd play some excellent poker. Plus some of our well known whingers finally had something to smile about. Firstly Wally 'I'm the unluckiest bloke I know' achieved at Pot Black first. Wally 'I haven't had a hand in 3 months' got the highest possibly hand in poker a ROYAL FLUSH!!!! Not only a ROYAL FLUSH!!!! but he got it on the flop and not only did he flop a ROYAL FLUSH!!!! Cess 'Whats the point in me playing, I can't qualify anyway?' bet into him on every street!!

Cess 'not worth my money playing' with his unpredictable playing style was not done there though and made it his goal to target Wally 'ROYAL FLUSH' to get his chips back. Cess continued to breeze past the field with some cany play finally beating this years most consistent player Nigel heads up.

Here is a breakdown of your points so far plus the table standings

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER HEAT 5

The first two hands of this heat pretty much summed up the whole night. First up Ash had Pocket Kings and picked up the pot with Nigel winning the next hand with Pocket Aces. Plenty of big hands which for the first time in Pot Black Poker History.... all held up!!!!!

Some good play by all the players, including someone who everyone things plays tight (can't think who this is?) passing Pocket Jacks pre-flop!! Only to be proven right as Aaron was holding Pocket Kings.

Sam eventually proved victorious beating Nigel into 2nd place claiming himself in true Sherminator style 'It was just my time, It was just my time...'

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER HEAT 4

Heat 4 saw a much better turn out and so a much better match. The Highlights of the evening saw Nigel knocked out to a straight Flush by Max (only the 2nd time I've ever seen one, lucky old Nigel)

Wally had his usual luck, i.e NONE! in his own words 'I didn't win a bloody hand all night' Hard to believe i know.

Ricky came throught the field with the best hands holding up most of the time, he edged Sam out in the heads up battle, but what do you expect when you drink WATER!!! all night.

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER HEAT 3

The third heat of the Pot Black Series of Poker saw many absentees due in large to Daaaaaaarrrrrrrrreeens!!!! birthday bowling bash. This left 5 hopefuls all using their 200% Jokers guaranteeing themselves a minimum of 12points!! Also with so few players the blinds could afford to be slow and good play would be the order of the day. Hence I (Ready) was first out!!!!

Heads up saw Nigel take on debutant John Gower both looking to cash in on maximum points. John took the chip lead into the clash and never relinquished it.

Lets hope for a fuller turn out next time on,

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER HEAT 2

The second heat of the Pot Black Series of Poker saw an excellent match draw to a close with 3 players remaining. Massive chip leader Max with approx 10000 in chips followed by Wally and Ricky with only 1000 chips a piece. With the blinds at 400 and 800 Wally and Ricky only had one option.... automatic all-ins. Ricky not having played a tourno for well over 18months was still able to leave up to his name... Golden Balls. Having to push All-in firstly he found Ace-King and hit a FLUSH! to stay-in then next up found ACES!!! to knock poor Wally out. Ricky's golden streak continued, enabling him to keep doubling up to eventually overcome Max's chip lead and become the second heat winner.

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER HEAT 1

The first Heat of this seasons Pot Black Series of Poker saw a uncharacteristically small attendance due in large to a big due at the Oddfellas for Rene's Kevill's 60th. So with a few regulars missing it gave the new breed a chance... NOT to be as last years overall winner and runner/up swapped places to see Aaron 'Never lost an All-In' Cooper pip Ash 'becomming almost as fortunate as Aaron' Moore to topspot. Due to the small field all players decided to use one of their two Jokers to gain maximum points. This means theres alot of catching up for the rest of us to do!!!

POT BLACK SERIES OF POKER 2009

Here it is, the one you've been waiting for..... for all of 3 weeks! Pot Black Series of poker 2009 edition. A few amendments to the rules so be sure to read carefully.

RULES
This time there will be 12 nights run over the year all leading to a grand final table at Christmas with last years total prize fund being in excess of £1500!!!

Each individual poker night will have a cash payout for the winner and runner-up. The winner is not guaranteed a seat at the final table. instead to benefit our regular players only points accumulated through the year will count towards qualifying for the grand final.

Each night will be limited to 16 players each paying a £15 entry fee.

The entry £15 will be broken down so that £10 will go into the pot for that night to be won by the winner and r/up and the other £5 will go into the grand final pot. Also for your £15 you will be guaranteed one buy-in (if indeed you need one!) for all you fish out there, one more buy-in can be bought for an additional £5, again contributing to the overall prize fund.

A points system will be in place so that 6-highest points scorers will qualify for the grand final table. The next 6-highest points scorers will have their own ‘wild card night’ whereby each player will start with 300chips plus 50chips for each point accumulated during the main season. these six players will play down to 2 wild card entries for the grand final on that night!

This year to mix things up a bit and to help players that may have to miss some nights due to work commitments, parties etc, there will be a few adjustments to last years rules.

Firstly only your top 9 or fewer points results out of all 12 events will count.

Secondly we will be having 2 Joker nights, whereby prior to any event you can either use a 200% Joker or a 150% Joker. Any points acrued on either of these nights will either be doubled or multiplied by 150% depending upon what Joker is used. meaning you could possibly win 20 points on any one night so you are never out of the running!!!!

So it’s worth playing as often as you can to give yourself the best chance of qualifying!!!
look out for the first tournament going up on the board soon!!!!!! (24th Jan)
May the bad beats begin!!!!
